Backup settings for end users

All-in-one solution for Backup, Restore and Migration.

Backup settings for end users

Overview

Admin can control what backup-related actions end users (control panel users) can perform on their own.

It includes enabling/disabling backup features, setting limits, and restricting access to storage locations.

Backup Restriction settings

These settings control whether end users can take and restore their own backups.

Note : Both of these settings are disabled by default. Admins must enable them manually to allow end user access.
  • Enable Backup for Endusers (Self Backups) : Allows end users to create / schedule backups themselves
  • Enable Restore of Self Backups for Endusers : Allows endusers to restore backups that they created themselves.

Backup Limits

This section allows Admins to control how many backups user can create

  • Auto backup rotation limit : Maximum number of automated backups retained. Unlimited keeps all backups.
  • Maximum backups per user (Local & Remote) : Total number of backups (combined local and remote) allowed for users.
  • Maximum backups per user (Local) : Maximum number of local-only backups that users can store.

Auto Backup Settings

These options let the Admin restrict scheduling options or disable specific backup locations for end users.

These following are options to disable backup locations for End users :

  • All Remote Locations : If checked, then it disables all remote backup options for users.
  • SSH : If checked, then it disables SSH destinations for users.
  • FTP : If checked, then it disables FTP destinations for users.
  • Amazon S3 and S3 Compatible : If checked, then it disables all S3 and S3 compatible servers for users.
  • Google Drive : If checked, then it disables Google Drive destination for users.
  • OneDrive : If checked, then it disables OneDrive destination for users.

These following are options to disable Automated Backups for End user :

  • All : Disables all types of scheduled backups.
  • Disable Daily Auto backups : If checked, it disables the Daily backup frequency option for users when scheduling automated backups.
  • Disable Weekly Auto backups :  If checked, it disables the Weekly backup frequency option for users when scheduling automated backups.
  • Disable Monthly Auto backups:  If checked, it disables the Monthly backup frequency option for users when scheduling automated backups.
  • Disable Custom time for Auto backups:  If checked, it disables the ability for users to define custom cron expressions for automated backup schedules.
