Add Backup Job

Overview

This guide will help you create a scheduled backup job in Backuply using the Admin Panel interface.

Add Backup Job

Navigate to Admin Panel > Backup Jobs > Add Backup Job

Backuply add backup job

This will open the Backup Job form, where you can schedule automated backup jobs by configuring the method, storage location, backup type, users, and scheduling frequency (hourly, daily, weekly, or monthly).

Once you open the form you can start scheduling the Backup job as per your requirement.

Here is a list of each field on the form :

  • Job name : Name to identify the backup job and it must be unique.
  • Backup Method : Choose whether to run a Compressed or Incremental backup.
  • Select Backup Server : Select the storage destination (e.g., Local folder, FTP, S3).
  • Backup Path : Path on the Local backup server where backups will be stored. For remote servers it will be set while creating Backup server.
  • Backup Type : Select whether to take a Full, HomeData (Database) or Mail backup type.
  • All Users : If checked, backups will include all users on the system.
  • User List (Disabled if All Users is checked) : Select specific users to include in the backup (only shown if "All Users" is unchecked).
  • Max Retries : Number of times Backuply should retry a failed backup before giving up.
  • Max Background Processes : Limit the number of concurrent backup processes to control server load.
  • Backup Scheme : Schedule the frequency of the backup job to run automatically. You can select any option fromHourly, Daily, Weekly, Monthly
  • Time : Select the time of day when the backup job should start.
  • Backup Cron : Instead of using the "Backup Scheme", you can set a custom cron expression in the Backup Cron tab for advanced scheduling.

Once you schedule a Backup Job to run automatically, you can view and manage all created backup jobs from the List Backup Jobs section.
